Using a USB Remote Control for BSPlayer Can anyone tell me how to use my USB remote controller with BSPlayer? |
I'm not sure what your USB remote is, but you could have a look at Girder or uICE. Girder is freeware, while uICE is shareware, their features are pretty similair, however you'll have to set up your own set of commands for BS Player using Girder, while you can download a set for uICE. There are plugins for a lot of other programs available for Girder though. I'd check to see if your particular device is supported by each, I think they'll both support pretty much anything, but you may need to set things up yourself if no one has written a plugin for your hardware before. Girder is available at http://www.girder.nl/ You can download a time limited copy of uICE from http://www.mediatexx.com/ I have a Creative Live Drive IR, which is supported by both, and am looking for advice on remotely controlling BS Player with Girder, or if anyone has written a plugin for Girder that would be even better! :D |
I'm starting to make some headway on this now. If you want to use Girder then it seems you also need a program called Winlirc and a Girder plugin for Winlirc which can be downloaded from the Girder site. You can download Winlirc from http://winlirc.sourceforge.net/ I've got simple controls set up for BSPlayer now, but need to figure out a decent method of selecting files to play. Has anyone had any success using the arrow keys by remote? |
for the ATI remote Wonder, you can use : - easy way : predevelopped plugins - harder : plug-in for girder + girder you can get all this there : http://remotew.free.fr |
I have a piece of shareware called Intelliremote that lets you completely take control of your MCE or Creative Remote. Do you want to launch BSPlayer from the Green Button rather than Windows Media Center? Now you can! Do you want to control BSPlayer from your sofa? Now you can! If you can think of it, Intelliremote can probably do it for you. Creative and Microsoft had an excellent idea bundling an infrared remote control with their products...it's just to bad the software doesn't even do what you want it to do! I have a profile for BSPlayer which was donated by a user. Check it out.... http://www.intelliremote.com |
One option is to use a program that emulates keyboard shortcuts and then use gamepad to execute commands. I got a program called Xpadder. |
Are we now responding to posts dating back to mid 2003??! We were using version 0.86 build 499 (or earlier) at that time! :? |
Ups! I didn't noticed that original post was from 2003. |
