0.86.497

Whee, fast update this time :D
However, some mpg files still give me an "invalid file format" msg box with 496 and 497, while 494 plays them. I hope you can track down the problem soon ;)

Halle

Could you upload somewhere part of this file ?
You could use ftp.bsplayer.org username:bsp

Hi.

I'm just uploading 2 files, "Thumb Wars (working mpeg1).mpg" and "Thumb Wars (non-working mpeg2).mpg".
According to GSpot 2.2, the non-working files have "Video Src Type"="MPEG2_VIDEO" in common, whereas working mpg files are identified with "Video Src Type"="MPEG1Payload" (this was the case for all files I tested so far).

Regards and thanks alot,
Halle

First few MB are enough.

It looks you can't play MPEG2 files.
Do you have installed some MPEG2 decoder ?

Halle 17th June 2003 03:12 PM

Ah, I have just edited my previous post ;)
(I am still uploading though, as I only have a 28k connection..)

I do have an mpeg splitter/codec installed, as GSpot can render both files and Windows Media Player and BSPlayer 0.85.494 play them fine, too.

Update: Upload done :)
Filters used by BSP 494 for decoding mpeg2 files (all from k-lite codec pack 2.03):
Ligos Audio Decoder 4.0.0.77
Ligos Video Decoder 4.0.0.77
Ligos MPEG Splitter 4.0.0.77

For now uncheck 'Use Overlay Mixer' option in Ligos MPEG Video Decoder properties (overlay will still be used if it's enabled in player).
I'll look into this.

But this Ligos MPEG2 decoder have worst quality I've seen so far.

It works, thanks!

But I'd be happy to use another codec if it gives me better quality. Which one do you recommend?
