Major Problems

Hello support team,

I have two major problems with BS.Player Free:

1. I have installed version 2.63 (the latest version, i think) and this version constantly hangs - on every movie! Sometimes more than once. I have tried installing the older version 2.57 (which i'm using right now), but the problem persists - the program hangs nad i have to use the Task Manager to close it! I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit operating system.

2. Every time i start BS.Player i have to manually set the subtitles, even if i have already set the language to Bulgarian (my main language). Every time when i run a movie i have to go to Menu-> Subtitles-> Primary-> Subtites Properties-> Font, and i have to change the Script to ''Cyrillic''. I have also set (from Options) the default language to Bulgarian and the subtitles are dowloaded in Bulgarian. So, is there is any option that will allow to set the language to Bulgarian once for all?

I have used BS.Player previously on Windows XP, 32-bit operating system for more than 4 years and i have never had such major freezing and such big subtittle problems.

Waithing for your replay and advise!

Best regards

Seems like BSPlayer can't save it's configuration file. Do you run Windows 7 ? If so, UAC it's disabled ? Program files folder "read only" it's unset ?

Check whether the user is an administrator or not. It sounds like a permissions related issue.

Hello,

I'm using Windows 7 and the UAC is not disabled. I'm also the administrator of the computer. Could you please expalin step by step how can i set this configuration file?

Thank's agian!

First, disable UAC: control panel -> user accounts -> change User Account Control settings -> move slider to minimum, restart computer.
Open Windows explorer, go to Program files folder, right click -> uncheck "read only" check box.

Hello,

Sorry for the late replay.

OK, the problem with the subtitles is fixed!

Unfortunatelly, the other problem still exists - i have tried everything and still BS Player hangs on every movie. I cannot close the program even with the Task Manager! I have to restart the whole computer. I have tried everything (even disabling UAC) - nothing worked.

Please can someone help me? I really need your help?

Best Regards

Usually this happens when there is a bad comunication between BSPlayer and the codecs used to decode the movie. Could you open a movie that hangs out and post here which filters are used to decode ?
Rightclick -> options -> filters

I would sugest uninstall this old version of Haali media splitter and install a newer version or to install LAV filters ( with the included splitter).

BSPeter 12th April 2013 06:44 PM

This version of Haali is still the one which BS.Player's codecmanager installs.
(Latest BS.Player version is 2.6.4.1073; it includes a new renderer, which you could perhaps try.)

This does not work

I've done what you tell me - I uninstalled the old version and install the new one. But that doesn't work. The player continues to crash, and I have to restart my brand new computer every time I want to see a movie. Sometimes this happens twice, or three times for every movie. Please help me, I love your program, I've been use it for years. I don't want to use anything else.

Thank You!

The new solution will be grately appreciated!

2 weeks

It's been 2 weeks since I wrote you and I didn't receive an answer. I hope you didn't answer my question yet because you're busy with fixing the problem that I have. If not, your silence is offensive. I hope you'll fix it sooner.

The only thing that I can think of it's a video card issue. If you go to options -> preferences -> video -> video rendering methode and select from there "internal renderer (default) and play a movie ?
Select, one by one, other options such as overlay mixer or VMR 9. See if one of those options work.
Update video card drivers.
