I tried running a Divx movie and when it opens I get this error popping up..

I had the same problem, try to change settings while playing:
go to " other menu", choose properties and than try changing DivX MPEG-4DVD video compressor

Concerning the unknown format, i have the same problem, please let me know if you find a solution

Could be related to the DirectVobSub issue if you have subtitles in that format or named in such a way that DVobSub starts.

Try using the new bsplayer build .490, that's been fixed.
