can anybody get me a stripped version of the divx 5.02 codec,
so no ads, or the fricking playa or something with it,

I just need the codec,

It's funny that you ask for it. Yet, you're not a newby!?!
If you're talking about pro codec, you should know that it's protected by the PSIKey.dll that only works on your machine and not on an other one.

found an installer for just the codec,

hosting it would indeed be illegal.

the new codec 5.02 has an option to just install
the codec and not the playa, great divx networks!
if they just made a distribution without the playa
in the download, a lot smallband users would be happy.
