newbie : desktop mode button grey-ed out *help*

Just wondering if my system is not powerful enough or I don't have the correct version or something.

1. Everytime I open a file i get an "overlay fail" error message.
2. Alot of the functions are grey-ed out which means I cannot click on them to activate the function such as the Desktop Mode (is about the only reason why I downloaded this program)

A bit more info wouldn't hurt.
What video card do you have?
What version of BSPlayer are you using?
Please read Help to Help (link hereunder).

Did you already try what another setting of Mode at "Use overlay" on the "Video"-tab of "Options"/"Preferences" results into?
(P.S: are you using a "wallpaper" on your destop?)

THANKS ALOT PETER....ahhahaha....it was that simple
I thought it was like Drempils can work on-top my desktop wallpaper

So the problem was indeed caused by a wallpaper you were using?
And then to think that I even hesitated to add that remark to my reply!.
Good that I did anyhow. Fortunately that it really was that simple.
