features and performance: 1.0 vs 0.8x

BST, I am sure you've tested your new baby, how is it different from v.0.8x, as to performance? Is it really faster? More full-featured? Is there any particular feature you'd like to highlight? What would you say if, say, you were to sell it to someone already having v.0.8x? How is it different?

Too many questions, I know, it's all about one thing though. Any answers? Others are also welcome to add a comment or a test result.
