Disabling Visualization

Is it possible to have the play window disappear completely during playback of mp3, wav, ogg, etc., but come back when loading an mpg, avi, or other video? Maybe a .ini fix? This is the one thing keeping me from making a complete changeover from WMP6.4, and I would really like to get it resolved so I can stop using it as quickly as possible.
