Somehow and I wonder why, Vobsub or Directvobsub is now installed and each time a subtitle (SRT) is in the same directory, VOBSUB kicks in(green arrow in the tray) and apparently eats up a lot of CPU preventing smooth DIVX viewing in BS Player I would like to use the "classic" mode with SRT (subrip) file for subtitle and NOT vobsub ... How can I do that ? Thanks |

it is you who installed vobsub, it does not come with bsplayer, it is part of the nimo codec pack, you should unselect vobsub when installing nimo. I guess just disabling vobsub on bsplayer start should do it. |

Just download regdrop (http://www.addisonsw.com/text/regdrop.zip) and drop dvobsub.ax (windows\system) onto it with holding shift (same as using "regsvr32 /u pathx\dvobsub.ax"); the filter is now unregistered. Just drop it onto regdrop without holding shift to register it again (same as using "regsvr32 pathx\dvsub.ax"). Imo dvsub doesn´t take that much resources but as it´s nescessary only rarely with bsplayer this seems to be a convenient way to get rid of it temporarily. Just make sure that vobsub.dll and unrar.dll are copied to windows/system dir and you can even install dvsub completely manual.
