BSPlayer, a 16:9 TV and an ATI Mobility Radean 9000 card

I'm an absolute newbie in all related to using a PC to watch dvd and divx movies, so forgive me if my question sounds too stupid...

I want to use BSplayer to play a divx movie, but I want to see the movie (and only the movie) in a 16:9 television. That is, I want to use BSplayer as if it were a DVD-player connected to my television (I don't want to see any Windows XP stuff on my TV, only the movie played by BSplayer).

My graphic card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000. Anybody can teach me on how to do it?

Thanks a lot in advance.

P.S. I don't want to use the full-screen mode of BSplayer because the movie's images appear distorted because of the resolution up-scaling.

P.S. 2 What do I need (hardware and software) in order to remotely control BSPlayer?
