Difference between 1.0 and 86

I don't get this, I'm guessing the 1.0 release is newer but the older one has more features and is better in my opinion so can someone clear things up for me, I might be wrong and not know which one comes before the other. Thank You.

Version 1 is newest but is RC and is completly rewriten.
