I get sound but no picture?

I am trying to watch an avi video which is in a xvid mpeg4 format. I got it to run in winamp 5.04 but it is too slow I have downloaded 5 different codec files but none of them work.

I happened to stumble apon this website and downloaded bsplayer v1.00 and still nothing. I have also tryed wmp 9 divx 2.1 and quicketime. can somebody help cause I am this close to making my pc a doorstop. oh yes in divx it tells me it cannot open the selected file!

Download and install http://nic.dnsalias.com/XviD_Install.exe and disable post-processing.
