problem with bsplayer, ffdshow and ac3filter

i really need some help

while trying to test out some features with dvd's on zoomplayer i updated my ffdshow files and somehow have lost the ability to run audio through the ac3filter.

i'm outputting all ac3 content directly via spdif to my receiver for decoding, but i used to be able to utilize ac3 filter for everything else. now i don't show it as a filter in bsplayer or as a drop-down in the filter section of audio configuration in ffdshow.

i've done all the obivous, reinstalled both ac3filter, ffdshow and bsplayer, i've set ac3 filter to preferred etc...i'm really puzzled here, can somebody please help me. bsplayer is using the fraunehoffer codec for mp3 playback, i want to send it to ac3filter. please help.

Do you use the 1.00 version or above of ac3 filter?

as a matter of fact, right before you posted that, i discovered a thread on doom9's forum that has a RC1X series from a guy named Valex, but development looks like it's stalled and i don't see anything final...what version are you using?

you're right though, i was using the .7 version and it does not allow encoding of pcm or mp3 audio which is what i was after

i must have did an "open from" instead of a save as on my previous installation, that's why i didn't reinstall from it in the first place

pretty frustrating. i cant' tell you how long i spent last night trying to figure it out...lol

anyway, i'll ask again, what is the latest stable version out there that allows spdif passthrough and real-time ac3 encoding of mp3 audio and pcm signals?

To output MP3 to multiple speakers use the reverse of AC3Filter, Matrix Mixer. It is developped by the same team.

http://matrix-mixer.sourceforge.net/

From it's configuration you will find that you can connect it to AC3Filter. And you can configure output to as many channels you want. Good luck.

ac3filter 101a RC5 has matrix-mixer built in
