Brightness controls

I'm sorry for posting such a stupid question, but I can't seem to figure out how I can change the brightness setting for a video file with BSPlayer, so I was wondering if anyone can help me.
Changing this in the windows settings doesn't change anything in the video.
Any help would be really appreciated!!
