How do I get subtitles to appear beneath the actual movie

How do I get subtitles to appear beneath the actual movie instead of in it.

To clarify

it works on my pc-screen, then however the subs won't appear on my TV.

If I change the settings in BSplayer so it appears on my TV instead, then I'm not able to make them appear beneath the picture.

Disable "draw subtitles on overlay" and you can move them using shift+arrows

No

That wont show subs at all. On the pc yes. On the TV no, and thats where I want them.

ATI or Nvidia videocard ?
Clone mode or extended desktop ?
I use an ATI videocard, extended desktop and all is OK.
