error: exeption in module oldskin.dll at 00014B49

Hi,

Since yesterday i've got this error: "exeption in module oldskin.dll at 00014B49"
Bsplayer run well with the default skin but give me this error with any other skin.
I tried different things to solve the prob: Reinstall bsplayer, do a Norton Winfix, uninstall useless apps, etc... But nothing to do :(
I don't know if it has something to do with it but yesterday i've installed the demo of the game Myst V and i had some trouble with it. It freezed my computer and i was no able to uninstalled it properly. I suspect this demo to be really crappy and i'm quite sure it messed up my system and bsplayer then.
I don't know what to do. Any idea ?

ps: I've read the post talking about the oldskin plugin but my prob is different.

If your system is messed up, I suggest you to do a fresh reinstall of your OS... Or to do a system recovery if you can.

As an alternative, you can convert your old skins (the ones that give you the oldskin.dll error) with BSP SkinMaker (link in my signature).
The only thing you have to do is to load your skin in my program, if the skin is a BSZ skin then press the button EXTRACT in BSP SkinMaker, say OK to the message telling you that the skin is an OLD type skin (and the program will convert your skin), then save the converted skin!

Now BSplayer shouldn't give you any error message regarding skins!
Bye

Tks Tizio,

Actually as far i see, my system is not really messed up, just bsplayer causes trouble.
So i'd rather don't make a fresh os install.
More over, unfortunatly your tool won't solve the prob because no matter if it is an old or a new skin there's always an error.

There's a problem somewhere in Windows may be in the register, may in dll, may be else where.
Really i don't want to reinstall my os for such a little thing. In other hand i use bsplayer dayly and the default skin is so ugly :(

If the error is always the "oldskin.dll" one, then simply disable loading of plugins in Preferences window, or delete the "oldskin.dll" file that is placed in "BSPLAYER_DIRECTORY\Plugins" folder..

ok i tried but it doesn't work either. The error is "Unsupported skin format" even with new skins like "plain" :(

Really i hate these guys from Cyan with their crappy demo.

I'm sorry, I have no other suggestions.. :(

You can try to uninstall/reinstall BSplayer AGAIN and see if the problem goes away.
