what codec packs do you have installed? if you ahve several installed uninstall then and only install those you need. you can also check what codecs are needed by using G-Spot http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html

what does Bsplayer show when ur playing teh video? you can check that by right clicking bsplayer>options>filters it should tell you there what codecs are used and stuff.

ive only installed xvid and mpeg2 elecard decoder.

this is what is showed by bsplayer when watching an avi. but the problem is there with every file format.

well, it has kinda improved, but now when watching MPEG1 i have some mini pauses of the video every X seconds, its weird, coz if i replay, they r in the same place always, as like the video would be like that, but they werent there before

try setting BSplayer priority to high.
also what would be helpful is to read the following (particulary the part about XVID codec which can prove very usefull): http://forum.bsplayer.org/viewtopic.php?t=6206

Try to install an MPEG2 decoder, such as Elecard.

If that doesn't work, the mpeg1 file may be problematic
