BS Player and .MOV-Files

hi

I would like to play a MOV-Files with BS Player but there is no sound. Picture is fine but no sound, what do I have to do? To enable some options? or do I need plugin?
I know MOV works with Quicktime but there the video sucks/crashes and with BS Player is fine......only if I can get the sound

help please...

I've seen this with older mov files. The newest codecs don't decode sometimes older versions, like DivX 6 vs DivX 3. Sorry, I didn't find a solution yet. Maybe someone else can help you.

Interesting then. I assume you have the latest quicktimealt installed. And also data sheets for digicam, where you may find wich format is used to encode video.

hm , I dont understand what you mean with "...the latest quicktimealt installed. And also data sheets for digicam, where you may find wich format is used to encode video."
what is this sheets and quicktimeALT? what is that :(

Sorry, I jumped to conclusions too fast. Quicktime alt is a set of codecs used by QuickTime format to play files. To play mov files on PC, using BSPlayer, without installing QT player it is possible only if you have QT alternative installed. But you seem to have QT installed rather than QT alt. I think you should try to install latest QT alt.
If your camera came in a box it should have some documentation. I hoped it may contain some information about recording format.

PS If you have a small file, like 1-2 MB you can try to send it to me by email. I should try too see if I can play it.

no, ich have QT 6.5 installed on my PC!!!!! it works but the video sucks, so I tryed to play it with BSP but there is no sound
So it should not be because of QT cause I have it. Mayby I have to install some code more or to activate some optons in the BSP Settings.

what do U think now?

can U play MOV files with BSP on your PC?

adicoto 27th November 2005 06:11 PM

Yes, I can play them without QT installed. In fact I have 2 systems and both play mov files. But i have a small number of mov files and I can play them ok, but it is possible that I can't play some other files. That's why I've asked for a file from you. To see if I can play it. But if I can't play it I can search for ways to solve the problem.

I can play MOV files with BSplayer without problems.. If you have another PC (or maybe a friend of yours ;) ) try to install QuickTime Alternative and see if you can play also the audio stream with BSplayer..
You can find QuicTime Alternative here

cska133 27th November 2005 07:40 PM

ok, can U somehow send me your BSP settings to check if it is because of it. Then Ill try QT Alternative...

some Questions:

1.Can I have both QT and QT Alt installed or I have to remove QT before installing QT Alternative?

2. Have QT Alt some codecs which could decode the audio?

adicoto 27th November 2005 10:09 PM

Yes, you can have both of them.
I don't have any specific configuration for BSPlayer. Defaults except for subtitle font and script. No blacklist, no exclusions, no FFDshow.
QT alt is updated frequently. More than QT
