VOB File Plays only 30 seconds Hi, I'm using BS Player 1.36....great player but I just loaded a VOB Video of 4 minutes. BS Player (also Real Player) will only play 30 seconds! WMP plays entire video. Any explanations appreciated. Marc |
Could you tell us wich MPEG2 decoder is used to play the file ? If you use an alternate one such as Elecard or BitCtrl it's the same ? |
How do you determine that? Are you talking about filters? Let me know where, and how to look for the particular decoder that is decoding the VOB file.l Marc |
Open the file->rightclick->filters |
Looks like MPEG2 DEMULTIPLXER and Cyberlink Video SP/Decoder and Cyberlink Audio Decoder HP_DT |
So, you have CyberLink PowerDVD installed. You can try to install one of the other filters I've mentioned. I use Elecard and never got a problem. |
Yeah....just installed my Elecard Player and now BS Player... with all its superior features.....plays the whole file! Thanks, marc PS: Why does it need the Elecard Filter-Decoder? What's wrong with the other ones?....(just curious) |
BSPlayer works fine with some filters, bad with other filters and not at all with some. |
Some MPEG-2 demultiplexers and/or video decoders refuse to accept some (malformed) streams. There might be a corrupted part after the first 30 seconds. That's a guess. Or perhaps the bitrate field of your VOB was set to a wrong (too high) value, so that your current demuxer thinks the file is only 30 s long. In this case BSPlayer + Elecard v2.0 plays past the end of file and reports no errors. |
