Error while adding audio files

I just got BS player and was trying to add all of my music to the library. I have close to 18,000 music files(That WMP will read, 20k total). The first time it got through about 1000 songs before a message popped up reading "Error". The second time about 90 files, third time 60, 4th time 30 and the 5th time 13. Any suggestions on fixing this? I did a quick search through the forums but did not see this problem come up.

Can you tell us the content of the error message?
Try to use the Optimization function in MeiaLibrary preferences (CTRL+P -> Media Library -> Optimize database)

If it doesn't work, then delete the BSPMLIB.DAT file, reinstall BSplayer and make a backup of that file before opening BSplayer as suggested here

The error message is simply "Error"
What does the optimize function do?
