What that buffering in BSPlayer options means and should i use it?

kimiraikkonen 16th November 2006 10:13 AM

Yes, i also wonder that. What does buffering do? Do i need when running a file from HDD?

Tizio 16th November 2006 02:34 PM

Yes, buffering is to be used when you play movies from CD/DVD, HDD, LAN/NETWORK etc.
This way BS.Player load the movie in memory and the data can be read more seldomly (and smootly), plus if used for CD/DVD these drives will be used for a less amount of time and the noise they produce is reduced

What is good buffer size when playing movies from hardrive? And what are the drawbacks when using buffering?

Tizio 16th November 2006 06:02 PM

For buffer size I don't know, I think you have to try different settings..
Side effects are that it takes a more time before the movie starts playing (since it has to be buffered before  )

what types of HDDs should work movies with Bsplayer's "buffering" feature?

Fragmented when defrag can't be done.

Digiface 18th November 2006 02:56 PM

Is anyone really using that buffering feature? Do you use that J7N?

Does buffering affect cpu usage (by increasing that)?

kimiraikkonen 20th November 2006 09:03 AM

For fragmented drives, Windows's standard defragmenter does not complete %100, you have to use 3rd party software to complete all defragmention.
