Reverse TC possible and how to do it?

I managed to do it in ZP, with D scaler. When I try to use the same filters in BS, then it crashes. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Does anyone know how to obtain this? I play a lot of HD files and I want to keep on using BS, because the subs are loaded by the player not an external filter.

The jitter, in 23.95 converseg to 29.9 is really not pleasant.

But why do you want to do inverse TC while playing ? Do you need to deinterlace the source ? Do we talk about TS MPEG2 files ?

Yes TS Mpeg files, HD.

Without the reverse TC, a movie is displayed in 29.9, to require playback in 60 hz.

The film is recorded in 24/frames a second. So frames are repeated to come to this 60 hz (2x30 hz).

In travelings this gives an unstable background and a bit jerky impression. You will not notice it with a fixed camera, or when it goes really fast.

So to make the image more stable, the Reverse pulldown, bring the frames back to 24 (23.9).

The computer puts out 24, or 48 hz for my projector, who can accept the last rate.

Seems as long as you leave fps unchanged from the settings recomended, all is OK. When outputting to 24 fps the filter crash. If you click on the error message, where it states "here" you may see that the module it's MpegVideo Filter.
Besidest that, the filter is CPU consumming, 1080i file I tested working at some 17 fps, without deinterlacing. My Elecard filter plays the same file smoothly, including deinterlacing. Image is 10 times better. Maybe you'll give a try and check the "double precission IDCT" box.

I will try to do it, I had elecard installed.

My English is not that good. But what does this mean? That my computer has to output 60 hz or 48 hz, to play this smoothly?

Normally, a 23.976 file should reach 23,976 fps when playing, if your CPU is fast enough to decode this stream. For example, my CPU @ 3 GHz can't decode 1080p files @23,976 fps. So, instead of playing 23,976 fps it plays some 15 fps.
When sending to the projector you don't get 50 or 60 fps, as the source is interlaced it sends 50 or 60 fields per second, as 2 fields give a complete frame.
Try the elecard decoder with default settings and see the result. Then enable IDCT and see now if there is a difference.

in the iDCT box, I have integer, or float, nothing else. What does that mean?

Vertical interpolation VMR, and vertical filter, are the desinterlace methods, which one should I choose ?

When calculating the interpolation between the two fields you can use integer calculus (faster but not so precise) or floating point operation (slower but more precise)
Try both filters, you can't damage nothing. See wich is the best result.
