Unhandled exception at EIP: 01F2AB32

Hello.
I have serious trouble with BSPlayer. It worked perfectly for a long time, otherwise I would not have purchased the Pro version.
I have version 2.15 now.
At some point I changed some settings (filter priority) with GSpot.
That's when DivX wouldn't play with BSPlayer any more and caused this runtime error.

Today I get this error for ANY media I try to play (video or audio)!!! :(

I have uninstalled BSPlayer, erased the install directory, application data subdirectories related to BSPlayer and any registry entries related to Webteh or BSPlayer. After reinstalling BSPlayer I still get this error.

I can play any media fine using Windows Media Player, so I guess this is not really related to any codec settings.

The full message is:

No answer?

Is that all the support I can get for a completely unoperational product?

Should I write somewhere else to get proper support?

bsrendv2.dll is the core of BSPlayer. So, this eror is intimately bonded with BSPlayer and I am afraid that only team members can answer at this question. As a PRO buyer, you have the right to get support via e-mail from the team.
Regarding filter problems. BSPlayer and WMP don't use the same rendering method, sometimes even the same filters to play the very same file, so this is not conclusive. I am afraid that filters are the ones to cause this problem. SO, it should be useful if you remember wich filter merit was changed. (I am sure if this information was posted here from the first time, now you will be havin a lots of answers)
As for solutions. Re-registering quartz.dll may help. If not, try to uninstall all codecs, install Haali media splitter and reinstall all codecs (video ones, not the audio)

Could you try as follows (assuming you're running WinXP and used the installation's default settings):
While BSPlayer is inactive: rename the file "BSplayer.xml" in
C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\BSplayer (Pro)\ into anything different. Now start BSPlayer.
Result??
(This file holds your settings; perhaps something went wrong; once you remove or rename it, BS.Player will simply create a new file)

Well thanks for everybody who tried to help me, EXCEPT the official support, who, after a few useless attempts to help, simply stopped answering.

Things are pretty much in the same state.
There has been some progress when I had uninstalled all the codecs and reinstalled, but now any media file file again crashes BS Player, erasing the preferences file does not help either.

Guess what I use DivX Player and Windows Media Player again and although those are free they work.

Good luck to those who continue to use BS Player.

So, did you try to re-register quartz.dll ?
Or to install Haali media splitter ?

AndiG63 29th April 2007 09:13 AM

I tried re-registering quartz.dll - to no avail.
As for Haali Media Splitter, BS Player worked without it before and I don't believe in multiplying the number of filters or splitters where simple installations should do the trick. It's not like one or two media types don't work, NONE do. And as I said BSPlay DID work before, without this additional module.

Have you tried changing rendering mode to overlay mixer or internal renderer?

adicoto 29th April 2007 12:22 PM

For every media played, BSlayer acces quartz.dll wich, among others, it's the default splitter built-in Windows. It can be replaced by Haali's media splitter. At this moment it's the widest used splitter (even most of the users don't know that). Installing it could tell us if the cause it's linked or not to the splitter (quartz.dll).
If you don't want to try help us helping you, please don't complain about the way others help you.
