Broken Video Renderer I had some Macintosh MOVs I needed to decode and installed two sofware products for this purpose: latest Quick Time Alternative and Haali Media Splitter (for MP4). Later it became apparent the both packs are useless and I uninstalled them both using their uninstallers. Now the big problem. My video renderer has lost the capability to display RGB32 video. Now BSPlayer inserts a Color Space Converter after ffdshow decoder AND because of that the aspect ratio of the video currently playing cannot be carried to the renderer. What can be done about it? I tried the magical solution to DllRegisterServer QUARTZ but it did not help. It's an embarassing codec pack trouble. |
Probably reinstalling QTalternative and another MP4 splitter, such as Gabest may help solving the problem. It won't hurt keeping them on your computer. |
I've remedied this situation by unchecking "allow intermediate filters" in BSPlayer's preferences. I have Gabest's MP4 but whenever an *.mp4 needs to be tested the standalone MPC is sufficient. This splitter cannot properly demultiplex the MOV variation of MP4 and therefore must be registered and unregistered all the time. |
I've had 1 or 2 files that had some problems but not more than that. So, Gabest splitter works OK for me in here. Gabest as in MPC. |
