registration: how ?

Hallo,

I just bought the pro lite version and received my registration code. I downloaded the free version (as far as I can see this is the only version that is offered for download). Now I want to register: maybe I am being stupid but I can't work out how to do it. There is nothing in the menu.
Thanks for a hint.

Hi!
You have to login here to be able to download your purchased version. You can't register free version, only Pro Lite version you can download from the link above ;)

Plus, if you have any problem with BSplayer (since you are a paying customer) you can write directly to developers to ask help or questions by using this form

Dear Tizion,

Thank you for your swift reply. I have done as you told me but it seems that I am still using the free version. After having downloaded the pro lite version I have pressed F1 and R in order to put in user name and registration code.

After a restart it does say "registered to" + my name but every time I start a video a nag message appears: "This version of BS Player is for non-commercial and personal use only. You may not use it for any type of commercial activities". Also, when I press F1 and R again, my name and the registration code do not appear any more.

Sorry for being a nuisance. Maybe you can solve this one, too. Many thanks.

Probably you have Windows Vista as Operating System, right?
You have to disable UAC (User Account Control) to be able to fully register BSplayer.
And probably you need to place BSplayer settings files in user account folder (you are asked where to place them in BSplayer installation process) ;)

Dear Tizio,

Thanks again. No, my operating system is Windows XP Home, not Vista. The settings are in the user account folder (default). What's next? Thanks a bunch.

BS.Player PROlite is only intended for personal and non-commercial use.

"This version of BS Player is for non-commercial and personal use only. You may not use it for any type of commercial activities"

First you need to uninstall all versions of BS.Player FREE (and others if you have them installed), then download BS.Player PROlite from the link you received in your registration e-mail ans install it.
You will be able to register it afterwards.

If you still have trouble registering BS.Player PROlite, please reinstall it using default folder settings and disable UAC, as recommended by Tiziano.

Really the PROLite version is fo r personal use only? Good to know :)

Anyway he doesn't use Windows Vista, so the UAC problem don't apply to him ;)

Dear Ico-Man,
Dear Tizio,

Thank you (again) for your response. No, I do not have Vista so the UAC bit does not apply.

Let me just summarize what I've done: I first installed the free version of BSPlayer and since I liked it I decided to order the pro lite version. I received my registration code, deinstalled the free version and installed the pro lite version. That's all. I used the default settings.

There are two reasons why I feel I may still be using the free version:
1) the nag screen with the text shown in my previous mail. I understand that the programme is for personal use only but it is a bit steep that I should be reminded everytime I start a video (not: everytime I start the programme).
2) when I key in the registration code it is accepted but it is gone after a restart.

Do I need to make any changes in the registry? Any other ideas ?

Thanks again
