How to lower background music / make dialogue .vocal louder?

I'm wondering how I can make the talking/dialogue/vocal louder.. the background music is to loud for me.. which adjustments in EQ have to be made? or is it a preset or plugin that suites my need?

I'm using BSplayer 2.23

usually the vocal frequencies are the ones between 400Hz and 4kHz, so you have to raise those sliders (well, those in that range: 600, 1k, 3k)
Otherwise try to use the Live preset.

Plus, if you are listening to AC3 audio streams, there are some options in AC3 Filter properties to loud vocal frequencies

In most AC-3 streams vocals are placed in the center channel. Try boosting it by 6 or so dB (and cutting the master gain afterwards).
