Bsplayer 2.24 resize question

May sound silly but i recently upgraded from 1.36 to 2.24 and i noticed that i cannot resize the video window by dragging it's edge. Only -/+ keys and mouse-scroll works for resizing. Am i missing something or did it get shafted out?

I think this issue has been already reported before, but I can't confirm it..
I can resize the movie window by dragging the mouse from the window's corners either with or without borders enabled.

Probably it depends on the rendering mode, I use the default one Internal overlay renderer (default)

Cosmitz 30th September 2007 10:14 PM

I use the same thing and still have the problem. Also tried borders off/on, and changing the renderer... same. Thank you for replying.

Try to delete the settings file (bsplayer.xml), usually placed in C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\BSplayer\ folder, or in BSplayer installation dir.
Then open BSplayer and see if you can resize it.. beware that you'll loose your settings by deleting that file, if you want make a backup copy before deleting it ;)

Cosmitz 30th September 2007 10:43 PM

Backed up, deleted, start Bsplayer, still undraggable edges even thou evreything else was default. So that means it's not setting related most likely.

I can only redirect you to this other post.
You can try to circumvent the problem by stopping the video before resizing the video window, but I don't know how to really let you fix it.
Can it depend on the filters used to decode the video?

Can you tell me which video filters are in use when viewing the movie (right-click -> Options -> Filters -> Advanced)?

Cosmitz 30th September 2007 10:53 PM

Dosent want to move while paused or playing.

The filters:

I don't know if Haali media splitter can be the cause.. is your movie an MKV video? can you try to use another splitter for example the old Gabest splitter for MKVs?
Otherwise I really don't know how to help you furter... :(

Cosmitz 30th September 2007 11:15 PM

I tried it on multiple types videos. Even some i know i chould resize before, nothing. Going to try and disable Haali and see if that makes a diffrence. Now just to figure out how since it came in a bundle and i still need evreything else in it :P

Just so you don't feel alone, I have the same problem under 2.24 - can't resize the window by dragging the corners. Doesn't matter what video, doesn't matter what rendering options, etc. I'm using Vista, btw.

I've reverted back to 2.21 because of this.

same problem here

Hi,
I have the same problem

mirkuma 7th October 2007 05:36 PM

Same problem here, but one way for resize is to move roll middle mouse button up or down. This is still working.

frequenzy 8th October 2007 02:52 PM

also having some problems with the resizing issue.

1. +/- works
2. mouse scroll works
3. pause then resize works

i dont think its related to the video codec. definitely a bug :-)

Tizio 8th October 2007 02:57 PM

Under Windows XP I have no problems :?
Problems only on Windows Vista??

mirkuma 8th October 2007 06:22 PM

I have WinXP so problem is not Vista only related.
I must use stop not pause, to be able to resize video window.

Though far more practical than that is to use the mouse wheel or +/-.

On the bright side, at least they fixed the Vista monitor power-down issue in 2.24 (though why that took so long is a mystery). We can't have everything.

We are aware of the resize bug, fix for it will be included in the next version of BS.Player.

Thank you for your feedback.

adicoto 10th October 2007 03:58 PM

No such bug in here on 2.24 release. Strange. I can't call it a bug, as it's not present on all computers. Running on XP.

Tizio 11th October 2007 01:26 PM

Really strange
Good to know that it will be fixed for everybody in next release (even if I don't need to fix :P )

Ico-man 12th October 2007 07:39 AM

:)
I doesnt' matter, we will fix it anyway.

Seriously, the bug occurs only on some computers.
