Player for Laptop to amplifier

I connected my Sony Laptop (with Vista) over HDMI with my Sony Dolby Digital Amplifier and the Amp over HDMI with the LCD TV (also Sony). When I play a movie with the Microsoft Media Player the image is available on the TV, but the there is no output of sound over the speakers of the stereo? Does anyone know how to get the sound over the stereo because the speakers of the laptop have really poor quality

This is not MS Media Player forum.
Have you already fiddled around with BS.Player's settings under
Options > Preferences > Audio?
("For AC3 decoding use" & "Output Device")
R U using AC3filter? Version? Type of sound?
