Buffering isn't useful

Hi,
If i enable buffering for fixed drives with higher than default prebuffer and buffer sizes, the video has small interruptions that makes playback annoying. If i disable buffering no such big problems.

When buffering enabled, buffering status is about %99-100 also with higher values.

Why isn't buffering useful in that case?

Have you tried to change the priority settings for BSplayer and BSplayer buffer? (CTRL+P -> General -> Process priority High or Above Normal, CTRL+P -> General -> Network buffer -> Buffer thread priority Below Normal)

Buffer thread priority and process priority were both already set to "above normal"

If you are having playback problems - jerkiness, lag... then the point is to keep playback priority higher then buffering priority.

Also for some files like WMVs, though i set buffering enabled, buffer status seems N/A unlike it was in other formats like MPEG during playback.

wmv video file buffering

Buffering for WMV files is currently unsupported.

Working on it.

what about rar-ed files? they also dont buffer, even a slight signal loss in wifi lets the movie freeze for a few frames...is it possible to do anything about it?
