Cant Play .mkv format files

i cant seem to be able to play mkv files with bs player
is there anyway for this to work?

INstall an MKV splitter (Gabest or Haali)
Install an x264 decoder (CoreAVC or FFDshow)
Install an AC3 decoder (AC3Filter)

thanks for the help and all, but where can i find those files, where do i save em into, and how do i work em ?

mk i got the files to play, but the subtitles for it dont work =/
