No problem. As requested (enjoy):

Meanwhile the number of multimedia players is almost like grains of sand at the beach. PCFreunde.de (PCFreunde=PCFriends) now takes a closer look at one of those, named "BS.Player".

Download and Installation
In its basis version BS.Player is free. A non-free Pro-version is also available and offers additional features, but one can do without if necessary. The toolbars, which BS.Player wants to install as its companions, should preferably be deactivated immediately at installation; setup offers such option.
Otherwise the installation of BS.Player is quick and simple. A practical point: if important codecs for the rendering of audio- and videofiles are missing on the system, these can automatically be downloaded and installed by setup.

Appearance and operation
The player's appearance looks rather simple, which however, must not necessarily be explained in a negative way. If you want you can give the player a different appearance using skins. Numerous skins can be found on BS.Player's website. BS.Player doesn't in fact have any redundant features. All important elements can simply be found and are visible at a glance. At its right side several additional options can be folded out. The media-library which forms an integral part of BS.Player is well organized and supports the management of also larger music-collections.

Playback of multimedia-content.
At playback of multimedia-files the player gives a solid impression, though it doesn't really stand out. Unfortunately e.g. formats like ACC-Plus cannot be played by BS.Player. Standard-formats like MP3, WAV, OGG Vorbis etc. are no problem whatsoever for the player.
The player gives a better impression when playing videos. In that area BS.Player supports anything of any importance. Also the separate videowindow, without a disturbing fat frame, makes a good impression. Unfortunately DVD-movies can only be shown by the paid version. However, highdefinition videos in AVCHD-format are handled by the free version player without any problems. Especially interesting is furthermore the possibility to show subtitles for videos if you have the corresponding subtitle-file.
BS.Player also allows access to numerous internet-radio broadcasts. If you want, you can add your own stations to the list of about 850, if you know the url of the station.

Resources
It is very pleasant that BSPlayer requires relatively little memory. Even when playing highdefinition videos, the use of resources remains amazingly low. Therefore the player also runs on older systems without problems and the load on new systems is only minimal.

Conclusion
BSPlayer is a quite useful mediaplayer for Windows. The software makes an especially good impression when playing videos. Also the low use of resources is a positive element of BS.Player. Unfortunately the free version of the player cannot handle all formats, which somewhat diminishes the general impression.

then - at the download page of PCFreunde.de - it continues as follows:

BSPlayer Free: DVD- and DivX- Softwareplayer with many useful functions.

If you want to watch a DVD or DivX-movie on your computer, but don't have a suitable player to do so, then BS.Player may exactly be the right thing for you. All features needed in a videoplayer are available in BSPlayer (like e.g. zoom, subtitles or playlists). Especially positive is the low memory usage of the player. Even with highdefinition videos its hunger for resources remains limited. Therefore BS.Player is also very well suited for older systems. BS.Player can however also play normal audiofiles in common formats. Internet radio can also be received with BS.Player. The capture function, to save pictures from the movie to the HD can also be useful. The program offers yet several additional functions to render the watching of and working with movies as agreeable as possible. DVD-movies can only be shown in the paid version; however the playback of normal videos is without problem. You can decide during setup if you want to also install the BS.Controlbar; BS.Player functions both with or without this toolbar.
