"Places" subtitles problem

Hi,

I have a little problem with BS Player,
when subtitles are suppose to be both characters lyrics and places names (like "Meanwhile in the bad guys castle ..." :) at the same time, BS Player give priority to the place name and I always miss a sentence or two .. hidden somewhere I'm sure because VLC display them just above lyrics.

Any idea ?

Type of subs?
Using new (or 'old') subtitle parser/renderer?
Perhaps an example subsfile?

I have this problem on a .mkv file, and about new or old renderer, i don't know .. is that an option in BSP ?
