You have to use Notepad++ and not notepad in order to convert the fonts to UTF-8-BOM. (Encoding -> Convert to UTF-8-BOM) Also you can change to Windows, the Language for non-Unicode programs to Greek(Greece). (Control Panel -> Region -> Administrative (Second tab) and there ... change system locale) |
Noticed lately that UTF16 with LE works fine, when UTF8 generated artifacts. |
Use This Method I've run into similar issues with Greek subtitles before — especially when the text shows up as strange symbols. The fix that worked best for me was using Notepad++ to open the .srt file and convert it to UTF-8 with BOM (Encoding > Convert to UTF-8-BOM). Also, in BS.Player, make sure you go to Options > Preferences > Subtitles, and on the right side under "Font", choose a font that supports Greek characters and set the script to "Greek". Lastly, double-check your Windows system locale for non-Unicode programs is set to Greek if you're still seeing weird characters. Hope this helps! |
