Default [SOLVED] Desktop Mode simply doesn't work

I just downloaded this awesome software, but one of the main features that I was looking forward to, the desktop mode, does not seem to work for me. I am running Vista and I hit the desktop mode and nothing happens, nothing at all. I'm wondering if something is wrong with my setup or if it's just something I'm not doing correctly. Thanks in advance!

What rendering mode is selected?
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Video > [Video rendering]

EVR Enhanced Video Renderer is currently selected.
This was the defaut setting.

As far as I understand there are some incompatibility issues between Vista's Aero and desktop mode.
Could you try with rendering modes "Overlay mixer" and/or "Internal renderer overlay (default)".
Pse let us know.

I tried the overlay mixer setting and that seems to have worked. Thanks so much for your help. If I have any more questions I'll know where to go.

I have one real quick new question. I have a short little video, about 12 seconds long that loops in on itself to form my background. Is there any way to change the fact that a black screen shows up for a split second in between loops? This is just a minor inconvenience so if you have some time it'd be very appreciated. I'll be quiet after that I swear .

Use "repeat one" playmode, in this playmode BS.Player will not reopen the file, but simply jump to beggining = no delay.
