BSplayer freezes on close If the first suggestion is to update, i will, but only if i can be assured that i will be able to install a "core" version, without it using the codecs that come with it. I've spent literally hours on end after the mess the last install made. |

i had a quite similar problem about having BS.Player freeze when i press the 'x' icon to close it. i will experience such problem only if i use 'internal renderer DirectDraw surface'. if i just want to take a peek at the video about, less than 5 minutes, it wont happen, but if i watch the whole video, it'll happen by the time i close it. |

you could try turning off the skins from Preference>Skins and uncheck all the box regarding skins option in there and see if its still happen. for me, it only happen if i use internal renderer DirectDraw. if i use EVR or internal renderer overlay, it wont happen to me anymore. i believe this is also a bug in BSPlayer.
