Wouldn't it be possible that whenever BS.Player is being (re)installed it saves
in the installation folder (overwriting any previous same purpose file) in a
separate (ini)file
only containing this particular information, the option selected by the user at installation as to the whereabouts of BS.Player's auxiliary files (i.e. either in the OS‑determined user's folder or in BS.Player's installation folder). This to
prevent that, when using the "quick and dirty" method of renaming/removing the BSplayer.xml file in BS.Player's installation folder, all BS.Player's auxiliary files are automatically (re)created in the OS‑determined user's folder (instead of in the installation folder as previously selected by the user).
[Apparently BS.Player assumes - when started - that if BSplayer.xml file is not present inside installation folder, the user has installed with default settings, and it then creates all its auxiliary files in the OS-determined folder. Instead of - at each startup - looking at BSplayer.xml file's presence, BS.Player should then first look at the special (ini)file (always in installation folder).]
