Default Please help! I bought BS.Player PRO but cannot register it!

Hi. On Thursday I bought the PRO version of BS.Player, but I can't register it. I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and everytime I enter the license, the player restarts but when I want to play a movie it asks for the registration info again and again. Please help me with some tips! Thanks a lot in advance!

I am having the same problem with 2.16 and 2.20.

Using Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

2.14 works fine with my credentials.

Disable account control while registering. Take full control over the install folder and should be OK. Some of Vista's features sometimes work against the users :D

Still can't get any version later then 2.14 to properly register.

User Account Control is disabled.

I did set permissions on the BSPlayer folder to Full Control for "Everyone" as well as "Users". I also installed the application using "Run As Administrator" and started the application with "Run As Administrator".

It accepts my registration and then restarts, at which point it then asks for my registration again. Why 2.14 and earlier work (with no extra effort) and anything post 2.14 does not is confusing.

Well this forum is "General Discussion" where the other is "Bugs". And this problem is a bug (and I appear to be one of at least two people who has this issue), so I felt it more appropriate to bring it up in that forum as I figured the folks who wrote this program would be more likely to peruse that forum then this forum.

I pointed you to that thread because in my tests the only time I wasn't able to register BS.Player under Vista was by using a keygenned key (that worked in v2.14)

If the problem is that the UAC doesn't let people to register/install softwares completely, then contact Microsoft, because this is not a BS.Player fault, there are many many many programs out there that are not able to successfully install/register due to UAC prevention.
As already suggested here, the only way to install/register these programs is to disable UAC (or to say yes to its questions) and run programs as administrator.

If this problem will be assigned definitely to a BS.Player bug, then I'll add it to the BUGS list ;)

P.S.
BS.Player authors read almost all this entire forum posts, no need to post messages in every section to bring attention up.
If a BS.Player customer user (as you since you paid for it) has problems that we (other users like you) can't fix, then we can directly contact them to bring their attention to the specific case (anyway by contacting them throught the http://bsplayer.com/en/contact_us/ form is the best way to have support by them for a customer like you)

Got it. Well that's not the case for me so. :)

Yes. Which is why I made sure both were done.

This is good to know, and in the future I will stick to an existing thread if it has a similar problem to mine as well as using the Licensed Customer contact form.

Thanks!

(Note - I have sent two emails to the support email address with no reply)

Question - I'm not sure when I registered my copy of BS Player. Did the license key schema change with releases after 2.14?

I am just wondering if I cannot register 2.21 (even in Windows XP) when I can register 2.14 is because my 12-month subscription has expired and my license serial no longer works with versions past 2.14, even though I can download them from the licensed user site?
