Hang up while opening I have a video which consists of DivX4 and Mp3 audio and can be played fine in Windows Media Player 9. But when i try to run it through Bsplayer Pro, it gets locked on opening and i need to kill the process or reset the computer. I though maybe i blocked or added blacklist some filters, then looked at filter management with no entry about that fields. What may be the reasons? If there is a problem about codecs/filters, why is it being played by WMP? Thanks.

Not necessarily the codec, did you try a different rendering mode? Btw just a head sup always try to write more then just the symptom, write down what codec you got for playing DivX system spec and so on, every bit of information helps. :) Could try for example put hardware acceleration to zero see if it's the graphic card.

Update: The hanging video consist of HD Video (Avi-DivX4) 768x432 dimensions and AC3 codec, after i convert only its audio to mp3, it's opened by Bsplayer, otherwise only Windows Media Player opens it well with default AC3 audio codec. I have AC3 installed properly and was working while decoding DVDs.

1. That resolution and that codec means that the file isn't a HD, best case a rip from a HD TV station. 2. The audio part, is it AC3 like 5.1 audio or it's just 48.000 Hz stereo AC3 ? |

Yes, I see. This is an analog capture from a possible HD TV stetion, it ain't a HD file. Yes, it's an 48.000 Hz file. The problem it's from the audio decoder. Usually, Elecard deals this kind of audio with no problems. The file have, in fact, MP3 audio (probably Lame it's the compresor used) but it's recognised as an AC3 stream, there is where the problem is. Probably the capture software it's generating this. |

Please kimi, when you quote someone, disable HTML code, this way I have not to edit every posts of yours to show correct quotes ;) Can you provide a link to that video (or a smaller file with the same problem) so I'll be able to help you out (I'm not as smart as adicoto is  )

Ok, tried the file you uploaded and I have no problems in playing it. Update your AC3Filter codec as adicoto already suggested you and everything should be fine ;) (codecs used here are FFDShow v1.0.4.1518 + AC3Filter v1.3.1.0) Thank you Peter for the well packed reply :)

BsPeter & adicoto, i knew how to disable, i just wondered what it's used for. Because i haven't used any HTML tags or codes and what they take effect on this forum pages. Tizio, i updated AC3Filter the latest one, 1.46 with no change, file hangs at startup, works fine with WMP 9. Maybe it's because of your Bsplayer Pro is newer than mine. I have DivX 6.6.1 installed(has mpeg4 generic decoding support). Or your AC3 filter settings are different. Could you give here a link of a short video which has AC3 codec and can run with Bsplayer to test my AC3 configuration? Note: Some other converted AC3 audio-having videos can't be played correctly. I'm using official and unique drivers for my C-Media CMI8738 sound card driver. (there's no newer official, horrible) Thanks!

Is it possible that your HDD is fragmented a lot or has bad sectors? Try to defragment it

If it was because defragmentation, the video display should have come and playback should be sluttered. But in my problem there wasn't any display except hanging view of Bsplayer. Anymore thoughts? Thanks!
