I have that same problem with the 2.36 version
I try to load subtitles by either dragging them or by loading them but nothing seems to work the only way it does show it is if I drag the subs straight out of the .rar file into the player without extracting it to the directory

can anyone help with this problem??

And what is type of your sub?
Name of sub-file identical to movie-file (except for extension)?
