The RealMediaSplitter.ax, as a zip file, creates two separate folders one named release (288Kb) while the other is named release unicode (276Kb). The first was installed, creating the DllRegisterServer in realmediasplitter.ax succeeded. What am I supposed to do with the unicode folder?

Also, where are the RM audio and video files? Yeah, probably a dumb question, but having stated that this is all NEWBIE, you guys are really dealing with someone who is very uncomfortable dealing with this kind of thing.

PLEASE HELP, because I DO NOT WANT REALMEDIAPLAYER ON MY BOX. It, like WMP, contains a "report to poppa" buried inside, and always wants to get the latest version---which is really nonsense if things are working right. New is not always better: IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.
THANKS TO WHOMEVER RESPONDS,
MickyFinn,
