The reason i ask for this is so i can playback files that are still being written to.

This scenario is good for people with Digital Tuners who use them to record to mpeg2 any television program and wish to view the files whilst they are still being recorded.

If possible can this be expanded further so that a form of timeshifting is possible. Currently with Zoomplayer lets you playback files that are being written to, however when you open a file it remembers how long the file was when it originally opened so it goes back to the start when it has reached this initial length. What it should do is continue to playback the recording that has accumalated since the file was opened.

It may be a big ask, but many digital tuner owners in australia and around the world are currently looking for this feature and only DigiTV, which is nasty, supports it.
