If two players have same problems, then it looks like codecs issue. And DivX player probably use different codecs (maybe only DivX, even for other videos?)

For starter you can try upgrading XviD:

(uninstall before upgrading!)
If that doesn't help you can try going to DivX decoder configuration and in "quality settings" checking "Support Generic Mpeg-4"

oh, and be sure not to use ffdshow when testing = go to ffdshow config and change decoders to "disabled"
