Programmers tend to forget that someone still uses Win98. The all great VideoLAN for example also is unstable on Win98 and plays all audio @ DAC's frequency without resampling (YMF724, Realtek tested).
WinME is like Win98SE with 'modern' graphics and pchealth bloatware added.
