Ok, perhaps v1.37 is the last good release (I haven't tried this minor upgrade), but starting from v1.39 BSPlayer's performace has worsened.
Speaking of Winamp: I have installed Winamp v5.08c. I was bundled with paid commercial CDDB, free-form modern skins, media library, to name a few bloat components. But since Winamp has modular structure, all those features can be removed! That's a big difference and doesn't force users to stick to v2.9x.

BSplayer has lost its identy no longer being small and fast DirectShow application. Why pay now if you can receive Windows Media Player for free?
