I bought BSplayer for my Minix Neo X7 for the simple reason that it has a build-in SMB client, and it can play DVD rips.
It works quite well, however when I tried to play a 1080p .wmv file it became clear that this was a bit to much for the player or the codec.
I noticed that there is a possibility in the Playback Preferences to use a custom codec libffmpeg7_v8.so.
On the
BSplayer web site I found the Windows kit to build this codec, and after downloading and unzipping the kit I was able to make the codec. It took quite a while, there were many warnings (sloppy programming?), it wasn't quite clear where the resulting codec was to be found, but never the less I got it.
My next problem is where and how to install this codec, with other players (like the free BSplayer) you can download and install the codec, but how is it done here?
