Default Xvid movie upside down and errors messages

Here is what I get with BSPlayer :
- Error message 1 : Overlay failed
- Error message 2 : Display harware is not capable of color-space conversions. Switching to RGB
- The Xvid movies play upside down (but not other format, eg : DivX)

I tried with "Force RGB mode" so the errors message don't appear but it's not satisfying because :
- Xvid movies still play upside down
- When the image is resized (fullscreen or window mode) the playback is very jerky (lots of lost dropped frames) and the image is very blocky (no smoothing)

I know it's not a hardware problem because my other notebook plays perfectly (exact same hardware and same Windows 2000 os). And I remember not having this pb a few weks ago. I guess it must be a software/driver/config pb but I can't figure out what exactly changed on this notebook.

More info needed:
which overlay mode is switched on?
Do you have additional filters installed?
Check filter properties during playback to check if some filters kick in just for fun you weren't aware of...(i.e.Vobsub, Morgan Stream Switcher)
Do you use ffdshow?
What is your hardware config, especially graphic card?
Avi or Ogm??

More info :
- Overlay mode is 1 but same errors with mode 2
- How do I know about playback filters? I don't remember installing any
- I don't use ffdshow
- My notebook is an IBM Thinkpad T22, Graphic card S3 Graphics Savage/IX 1014 (Playback is OK on my other notebook same hardware)
- My movies are .avi files (DivX or Xvid codecs)...I'm not sure what is ogm

I think it is not a BSPlayer specific issue since the problem also appear with other players I just tried : wmp, zoomplayer and winamp).
I guess it has to do with the resizing of the video during playback...

Any clues ?

Play a movie in bsplayer.
Right click, filter properties: which names are listed there?
Download Sisoftware Sandra 2003 @ http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sandra/, install, run DirectX diagnostic module, scroll down to the bottom: what does it tell about available overlay color spaces?
Did you install latest graphic card driver for the appropiate OS (XP?, W2K?)?

Did you download the movies from the net? Which resolution do they have?

Well, HOT TIP here today is: Install latest Graphic card drivers suitable for your OS.
These Savage cards won't be produced anymore, right??
Good luck searching...
If none is available, you can flip picture using ffdshow (misc tab).
