BS 2.51 crashing with ffdshow mplayer postprocessing

Hi,

Just moved from 2.43 to 2.51 and it crashed.

I isolated the origin when enabling mplayer mode postprocessing under ffdshow (older and newer version).

No problem with WMP classic, so its BS related.

Moved back to 2.43.

BTW, the "do not remenber window position" still not working after so many years .... :-(

Regards.

Am I to understand that you're trying to use BS.Player and mplayer at the very same time (and both using ffdshow)? Why?

Hi,

No, no. In ffdshow there is the classic option of "postprocessing". Within this one you have the "processing method" with several options, one of which is "mplayer>accurate deblocking>level fix". That one is crashing BS but not WMP classic which I use in order to delimit the problem, in this case player-related.

I also tried to update BS in another PC and had the same issue. In that one I had to get back to v2.34 cos v2.43 (which is running well in the first PC) also crashed when turning on this ffdshow feature.

When you installed BS.Player, did you allow it to internally install the codecs/filters it needs? (Internally meaning for use by BS.Player only and not interfering with other filters/codecs installed on the PC for general use by other applications.)

yes I did. Indeed as I already had lar¡test version odf all the window did not appear.

Anyway, how can I check it?

I think you can check by running "codecmanager.exe" to be found within BS.Player's installation folder.
It will show a list of the codecs found and whether it concerns "system" or "local" installations.

Yep, all system with equal or greater versions than the onee in BS, except for RealMedia Splitter being local and FFDshow being both local and system.

I guess BS uses ffdshow system because changes remain wherever I make them, well in the BS filters menu or the FFDshow system's menu.

Regards.
