Bsplayer 2.51 b1022 is crashing a lot in windows 7 Bsplayer 2.51 b1022 is crashing a lot in windows 7, it is unusable. I officially switched today to GOM PLAYER. |
And the messges you got when crashing ? Can you post some of them here ? |
No messages what-so-ever. I'll check the event log. Bsplayer freezes and it doesn't follow a rule. It mostly freezes when changing to the next video file in the playlist, some times after just pausing it for a while and resuming playing. It's awful. |
When opening such a file, can you post here the filtes are used to decode the stream ? Rightclik -> options -> filters. And also, the build of BSPlayer ? Have you disabled UAC in windows seven ? PS. Gom Player ? Ceva mai bun n-ai gasit ? |
ffdshow_rev 3291_20100226_clsid.exe - latest build rel. date 26 feb 2010 AC3 Filter - latest build 1.63b Build: BsPlayer 2.51 build 1022 - latest Windows 7 x86 P.S. Do you know how frustrating can be to close and open bsplayer 10x times so I could watch 4 episodes of a tv show? Da-mi o alta alternativa la BsPlayer! Nu Media Player Classic. |
I, personally don't use ffdshow. But i've seen some problems regarding mixing up of BSPlayer's install of ffdshow in local folder and system installed one. (can be traced if you open a file and go to options-> filters -> advanced and see the exact location of ffdshow filter used to decode = libavcodec.dll) My personal advice is to install FFDshow on the system. So, uninstall BSPlayer's ffdshow and install it on the system. Maybe uninstall/reinstall of BSPlayer it's a better ideea. And say NO when asked about downloading codecs. And also, AC3Filter 1.52 it's far more stable IIRC. I am using BSPlayer for more than 1 year on windows 7 and never had such problems. Build 1024 it's the latest. Daca vrei sa schimbi, recomandarea mea personala este KMP. |
I don't use any codecs that bsblayer is throwing, ffdshow or others. I always install ffdshow from sourceforge in its own folder as well as AC3Filter. AC3Filter hasn't done any monkey business for as long as I've been using it, 2-3 years now, so I guess I'll stick to it (v.1.63). For now I'm testing GOM player and it has been stable, so no reasons to revert to BsPlayer, having reinstalled Windows 7 and all. The only minus it has comparing to BsPlayer is the lack of online subtitles feature (which is very neat), but I guess I can live without that. Hat det bra P.S. Am sa incerc si KMP. Mersi. |
hat det bra (fix it ! ) But nothing in here is broken. No such :bug: |

I don't see the point in going back to bsplayer as I never did install the internal codecs that bsplayer is suggesting, so that is not the cause of the crashes. And as a 'must do' for the next version is for bsplayer to point to the latest ffdshow tryout project page. All the builds up to 1022 are pointing to ffdshow (old):(http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow) instead of the latest-in development ffdshow branch : (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout) |
Good luck to you too! :zip: |

So it says, but it actually points to the old project's webpage. |
"it actually points" - Where do you see this? |
