Problem with Intervideo AC3 decoder dynamic range

I have a problem with BSplayer. When I use the Intervideo AC3 decoder to playback DivX files with AC3 through 4 channels it always compresses the dynamic range of the sound. Even though I have the 'dedynamic' filter turned off.

(the compression is some kind of active filter that turns the level right up after a few seconds of low volume, this gets very annoying because dialog levels go up and down whenever there are background sound in the track)

This does not happen when the Intervideo filter is set to 2 channel or when using the cyberlink filter, but I cannot get the cyberlink filter to work with 4 channels.

My soundcard is a C-Media CMI8738 on a Soyo Dragon Plus motherboard. Driver Version 5.12.1.630

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Luke
