subtitles-overlay related crash still in 497 When you play a movie in overlay, desktop in 256 colors and subtitles NOT in overlay 086.497 crashes every time. |
yeah ok, and you consider that a bug? |
Well, by default subtitles ARE NOT displayed in overlay, and then it results into a MIGHTY crash (blue screen). I am a power user (that means I know more of computers and stuff than 97% of ppl on this planet) and still - it took me hours of figuring out why some movies sometimes crash and others not. I found a work-around, however a normal or a computer-illiterate user would never figure it out. Therefore, it is a bug -- easily fixable, though. |
Overlay at 256 colours ? You gotta be kidding ! |
Dude, it's the best!! I don't know how is this possible, but the desktop stays in 236 colors and the overlay is in normal 32bit depth, it's just amazing!! This works ONLY in overlay (1) mode. When you switch to RGB, everything is in 256 colors. BTW, THAT'S HOW you can have overlay on graphics card with low memory (8mb and less), probably because desktop itself takes very little memory and there is more room for overlay. |
